The Max-Schmeling-Halle – A great venue for sports events and concerts
Set in Mauerpark, in the heart of the cool Prenzlauer Berg district, the Max-Schmeling-Halle has become one of Berlin’s best-loved sports and concert venues. As the boxing arena in Berlin’s Olympic Games 2000 application, the venue was appropriately named after legendary German boxer Max Schmeling. Some years later, it was expanded to create an attractive multi-purpose arena.
Today, as home to the Berlin Recycling Volleys and the Füchse Berlin, the Max-Schmeling-Halle regularly offers the best in volleyball and handball – and its steep stands ensure that the fans can enjoy the action with great views from all seats. The arena has also become the venue of choice for a range of other great sports, from boxing and the martial arts to indoor hockey and table tennis, as well as cheerleader and dance competitions. The Max-Schmeling-Halle has a capacity of 9,500 at its many sports events, and can even seat up to 11,900 for concerts. Thanks to its multifunctional design, the venue is also popular for corporate events, party conferences, gala events, shows and much more.
